At German Community Services (GCS), we believe older people deserve to live independent, active, and joyful lives.

Our services are designed to empower clients to thrive within their communities, drawing on their unique strengths in collaboration with families and carers to create a personalised path to positive ageing.

We value the wisdom that comes with experience and are committed to supporting clients from all cultural backgrounds and ages.

As a Not-for-Profit organisation funded by state and federal governments, GCS is also an accredited charity with the ACNC.

We welcome donations and bequests to help further our mission.

Holistic

We understand that wellbeing means more than just physical health. That’s why we consider the whole person—their culture, values, social needs, and emotional wellbeing. Our services are designed to respect each person’s unique needs, ensuring dignity, independence, and quality of life at every stage.

Community

Community is at the heart of everything we do. We bring people together through social programs, cultural celebrations, and shared language. Whether you’re accessing support or volunteering your time, you’ll find a warm, welcoming space that honours connection, belonging, and mutual support.

Positive Ageing

Ageing brings both opportunities and challenges. Our goal is to support older people to live with dignity, connection, and purpose—on their terms. We offer practical support, meaningful engagement, and a respectful approach that recognises each person’s story, strengths, and choices.

What our people say...

I enjoy seeing the people I have seen before, I am somebody here, people know and respect me. It is good to catch up once a week.
Willy, 86
I love really coming here. It gets me out of the house and I can do something. I meet people and friends. I love singing, I love playing games.
Marianne, 75
I live in a retirement village but still want to go out. Here I am happy. The food is nice. I come here every fortnight.
